PHIL BARLOW & THE WOLF RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘FAITH OR FEAR' / by Kylie Cobb

Summer’s on our doorstep and so is a new wave of energetic rock, blues and funk from Brisbane band Phil Barlow & The Wolf ! This September they hit the road with their hooky new single, “Faith or Fear”, in an unmissable regional tour.

This first song from the band's sophomore album shows off Barlow’s unique songwriting and musicianship. A funky melody you won't get out of your head, edges of rock and powerful lyrics. With solid, self-believing sentiments like, “I’ve done my time, exploring the doubts in my mind,” and “I found the courage to sink within, now it’s time to roll”, there is no doubt that Phil Barlow is about to knock it out of the park with this tour.

You'll love these guys - women threw bras on stage and the crowd literally howled at the moon for an encore from Phil Barlow & The Wolf at last year’s Mitchell Creek Rock n Blues Fest!!! It's no surprise they've been invited back to perform again this year!

Recently returning from a stint in the US exploring the roots of blues, Phil can't wait to rock the stage on home soil again. The band have relocated to Brisbane and are keen to make their mark - undoubtedly a must see this September:

Sept 6 • The Beetle Bar, Brisbane • w/ special guests The Royales + Don and the Mobsters + Electric Suede • Tix $15

Sept 12 • Currumbin Creek Tavern • w/ Street 66 + Hell and Whiskey • Tix $10 at the door

Phil emerged as a solo acoustic musician in 2011 with the release of his EP, Shades of Grey. He quickly discovered his place in the music world - on stage with the power of a band behind him. Enter Phil Barlow and The Wolf - a four piece band, sometimes five, they debuted with their album, Phoenix Rising in late 2012. Touring Australia’s East and South Coast throughout 2013, Phil enjoyed strong support from local radio stations with live interviews and airplay, as well as performances on Balcony TV and Sydney’s Pine Street Sessions.
