This Thursday, 13 November, one emerging band's wildest dreams are about to come true thanks to the Archive Untapped Original Music Competition and its major sponsors, Kitty Kitty Bang Bang and Mitchell Creek Rock N Blues Fest. Presented by Audrey's Music Shop, some 48 bands have played their hearts out at West End's Archive Bar, in a comp which boasts over $12,000 in total prizes.
This week, the four finalists will battle it out to win a coveted $3,500 recording and marketing package with Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, a paid slot at the 2015 Mitchell Creek Rock N Blues Fest, a paid gig at Archive Beer Boutique, $500 cash, $500 Audrey's Music Shop voucher and a write up in The Music Magazine!
The grand prize gives emerging bands the ultimate in powering up their music. Kitty Kitty Bang Bang's package includes professional producing and recording of a single in their Byron Bay studio, digital artwork branded across all online platforms, a Press Pack complete with pro press shots, an EPK and a press release, a launch event and a Live Show Pack which incorporates a live photo shoot, show review and edited video of one song! "The Kitty team are hell bent on making things easier for emerging musicians," says Kylie Cobb, Kitty Kitty Bang Bang director, "This comp is the epitome of our mission and we are stoked to see some of the region's best emerging bands powering up and having a go."
The winning band then gets to add Mitchell Creek Rock N Blues Fest 2015 to the tour schedule for their new, hotly packaged single! Fast becoming one of the country's most desirable boutique festivals, this year's lineup was stellar with over 150 artists (including Stonefield, Sandi Thom and Dallas Frasca), BYO and free camping and 2015 is set to be even bigger.
For the past 12 weeks, Thursday nights at the Archive Beer Boutique have been overrun by talent for this massive competition. Three original bands battled it out in each heat for their spot in the final this Thursday. The bands have been receiving the star treatment at the Archive Untapped comp, each receiving a bucket of Little Creatures beers in Kitty's Red Room and the winner of each heat taking home a carton of Little Creatures Pale Ale to celebrate with their mates and a $50 Audrey's Music Shop voucher.
Music lovers and supporters of Brisbane's live music scene should come on down to the Archive Bar West End this Thursday night to soak up all that musical goodness and cheer these champions on. And, there are a few free passes to Mitchell Creek Rock N Blues Fest up for grabs!
